Indianapolis, IN (Feb 25, 2026) – After a whirlwind December and January of racing the 24 Hours at Daytona and the Asian Le Mans Series, James Roe is readying for his open-wheel focus. The INDY NXT season kicks off with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Feb. 27-Mar. 1, and Roe will make his debut with Chip Ganassi Racing. His No. 8 Topcon Dallara will compete in the full 17-race championship, and St. Pete is the first iconic street course on the calendar.

Roe will ride with returning season partners Topcon, Ring Power CAT, Merlo, Vortex and Square Root.

“Of course, looking forward to the season-opener in St. Pete,” said Roe. “It’s an epic event with great fans. I’ve done a few tests days in the No. 8 Topcon car and really starting to gel with the Chip Ganassi crew. Ready to launch the 2026 INDY NXT season, chase a title, and continue our work towards INDYCAR.”

Directly after St. Pete, Roe will head to Las Vegas for CONEXPO-CON/AGG, North America’s largest construction trade show, where he’ll be a featured guest for both Topcon and Merlo.

The INDY NXT by Firestone season is broadcast on FOX Sports platforms, primarily FS1, with select races on FS2. Live coverage includes all races, plus practice and qualifying sessions on FS1, FS2, and the FOX Sports App. St. Pete’s U.S. broadcast info is below. 📺 ⬇️
