ABOUT JAMES ROE

Raised in a hard-working automotive family in Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland, James Roe chose racing when he was fifteen years old. A relative late-comer to the sport, James  quickly learned to become a driver on and off the track – raising the funds to purchase the first racecar he piloted.

Soon he was topping podiums and breaking course records in the UK and Ireland, but dreaming of something bigger. Though admitted to study mechanical engineering at the Dublin Institute of Technology, James, with the blessing of his family, deferred his admission to chase his dream of racing.

As James made arrangements in Ireland, the dream began to manifest with a call to cross the Atlantic and continue his racing journey in America.  With two bags, minimal funding, and unwavering ambition, eighteen-year-old James landed in America alone in 2018, delivering wins and lap records in a debut season capped off by rookie driver of the year accolades.

In the States, James has grabbed the wheel of his dream  – rising through the American motorsports ladder and notching wins at storied circuits like VIR, Road America, and Watkins Glen. In 2025, James will compete for Andretti Global in Indy NXT™ by Firestone Championship and Pratt Miller Motorsports in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s highly competitive LMP2 category.
