It is with heart wrenching sadness and shock that I’m writing from Homestead Miami race track.
The world said goodbye to one of the very best human beings last night, wonder-man, John Campion. John passed away peacefully yesterday evening, safe in the arms of his beloved wife Suzanne.
I have lost a best friend, mentor, supporter and team owner. My heart has never felt so heavy.
My heart is broken for Suzanne, Lilah Emma & Cate , his family and the CJJ motorsport family.
John was a force to be reckoned with. His energy , strength and kindness shone through, like no other person I know.
From the depth of my being, I want to Thank John. ‘Thank’ is too small a word. I am eternally grateful to John for all he has done for me over the last few years both professionally and personally. John transformed my life in more ways than one and made the impossible possible.
The life lessons that John taught me and memories we made will stay with me forever, and ever. John had a profound influence on me and everyone who knew him. He could light up any room he walked into.
John’s influence on Irish motorsport over the past number of years has made a huge impact on the sport both nationally and internationally.
I will cherish our daily catch-up calls and texts for as long as I live and will be forever grateful for the time I was lucky to spend with such a man.
An earth angel who will certainly be one of heavens greatest angels.
Dear God, bless him and mind him, John deserves nothing less.
Rest in eternal peace in heaven my friend, fly high. You’ll walk with me always.
Till we meet again,
James.
